The Sony Ericsson Satio and Aino were Sony Ericssons flagship handsets on the run up to christmas supported by a huge marketing campaign when they were launched in October this year.

However, Sony Ericsson was forced to pull the high end Satio handset due to high levels of returns at both Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u.

And the trouble doesn’t end there for Sony Ericsson as they have now had to pull its second handset this week, the mid-range Aino due to software issues.

This is a shame, and just follows Sony Ericssons current market trend of recalling products, last year alone they had to recall the K850i, W910i and C902 due to crashing and software issues.  As a former Sony Ericsson fan boy myself, I have never bought and never will buy another Sony Ericsson handset since the K850i.

Sony Ericsson seem capable of building solid handsets, but just cant handle the software side of things anymore with the fast advancements of the mobile phone industry.  Who knows, Android might be there saviour, it certainly is for Motorola.

The Sony Ericsson Kurara is going to be the second handset Sony Ericsson have released based on the Symbian 60 platform. The user interface has been specially optimized for touch screen use, which is a good job as the Sony Ericsson Kurara features a large touch screen.

It is rumored the handset will feature a 3.5″ AMOLED touchscreen supported by an 8 megapixel camera capable of recording high definition video

The Sony Ericsson Aino mobile phone has been talked about a lot recently and is certainly a tempting purchase.  The Sony Ericsson Aino sim free combines both of the features of the superb Cybershot and Walkman range.

Although the Sony Ericsson Aino looks like a full touch screen phone, it is actually a slider hiding a hardware keypad below the screen while the touch screen is only used to control the camera and multimedia functions.

An impressive specification sets the Aino apart from its competition.  An 8.1 megapixel autofocus digital camera with flash,  geotagging, touch focus and face detection will provide for some beautiful photos.

A mobile phone would not be complete without social network integration these days.  The Sony Ericsson Aino sim free includes built in Facebook and Youtube support, as well as Google apps like search and maps.

The best feature by far about the Sony Ericsson Aino is the new Media Go feature.  The handset can be used with your Playstation 3 as a remote control, and also give you full access to any media on your Playstation 3, including streaming movies/music.

If you don’t own a Playstation 3, don’t worry.  You can use Media Go on your home computer, and stream movies/TV shows & music directly to your handset.  Did I mention you could also watch, pause and record live TV streams through the Aino?
